Japanese Success Kaizen Effect One of the reasons why the Japanese are disciplined, hardworking and healthy is based on the Kaizen philosophy. In this article, I will tell you how to apply Kaizen philosophy in your personal development and work life.
Kaizen philosophy: it is based on striving to make the day we live better than the day before. In business life, the main goal is to try to contribute to the development of the company or projects every day. For this, the 1min formula is recommended. You have to apply the goal of your choice for 1 minute each day. Since it is 1 minute, you will not have any difficulties and you will not run away from the target because it takes less time.
7 basic principles should be understood in order to use Kaizen efficiently in the workplace.
Admit the problem.
Avoid high-cost projects
Focus on "our" problem, not on "theirs"
Economic profit should not be your only goal.
Set priority, do not compromise your principles
Apply the PİCT circle. Plan, implement, control, take measures.
Use the right tools to solve the problem.
There are 7 separate basic principles for the application of Kaizen in personal development.
In the phase of accepting the problem, choose a habit you want to learn or acquire a topic you are missing.
Know that you don't have to pour a ton of money to get the habit you want or learn something.
Focus on where you are missing and do not reassure yourself with the shortcomings of others. You must be your only opponent to move forward.
If your only goal is to earn money, you will likely fail. To gain or learn a habit should only be for your own growth.
You should not compromise your personality and principles in order to reach your goal.
Plan, implement and control the behaviors that will achieve your goal, and if it doesn't work, go back to the head of the circle.
Accepting the problem also brings the solution.
Let's give an example to better understand the kaizen technique. For example: you want to get into the habit of reading books. You read a book for 30 minutes for two days. But the 3rd day is very difficult. Here you have to turn the habit into need to gain. Read a book for 1 minute every day and after doing this for a while, you get used to it and gain continuity. The most important point is that you have to exceed 1 minute. After 1 minute for a while, you should increase the time to 5 minutes. In other words, you will gain the habit of 30 minutes by increasing by 1 minute in the first week, 5 minutes in the second week and 5 minutes in the third week.
As a result, you can use kaizen in all areas of your life. Sports, education, work, eating, drinking etc. In other words, you can use kaizen technique on any subject you want to change or improve.
