First of all, what does memory mean?
Memory; The processes of obtaining information, storing the obtained information and using it when the time comes are called memory. It is the most important part of the human brain. I will explain the 6 steps we need to do for a healthier memory with the information received.
Step 1 Gather Your Focus All information received from anywhere is first collected in the short-term memory region of our brain. This region is somewhat similar to the cache in the computer and phone. Unless the cached information is kept in long-term memory, there is a possibility that it will fly away. The first and most important way to achieve this knowledge transfer is to focus on the job and spend a little over time to absorb the information. The neural networks that enable the transfer of information to the long region are the work we focus on the most.
Step 2 Activate Your Brain Testing cognitive ability prevents early symptoms of memory loss. Forcing your brain to remember what it has learned and keeping neuron connections active increases efficiency. Step 3 Get Enough Sleep The body needs sleep to strengthen your memory. When you fall asleep, the connections in your brain are strengthened. The information obtained transitions to a more efficient and permanent region of the brain. According to some researches, information obtained without sleeping is remembered better. Staying awake for a long time after receiving the information causes the loss of some of the information. However, with a short sleep, this information can be transferred to long-term memory.
Step 4 Trying to Meditate It has been proven that the mindfullness technique strengthens the memory. With this technique, it can exceed the memory capacity of an average adult.
Step 5 Exercise regularly. With regular exercise, your risk of experiencing a cognitive decline is significantly reduced. In some studies, it is observed that the memory part is larger in people who stimulate brain development with regular exercise. Step 6 Consume Less Alcohol Alcohol consumption has a significant effect on memory. It is clear that people who regularly drink alcohol make 30% more memory errors.
